Archie’s Story
Archie’s family visited the Cotswolds in December 2025.

Archie’s cancer journey started in October 2023 at the age of 2. He just had a weird wheeze, which turned out to be a huge mediastinal mass the size of a pineapple crushing his windpipe!
He was urgently transferred to Oxford HDU where he was diagnosed with T cell leukaemia. This is where our long journey began to getting Archie healthy again and ringing that bell.
Archie’s last day of chemo was 27/11/25.
Archie spent 762 days in active treatment for his T cell Leukaemia. During this treatment he has had:
620 doses of chemotherapy
508 doses of antibiotics
318 doses of steroids
179 blood tests
112 doses of anti viral meds
14 lumbar punctures with chemo
13 hospital admissions
3 bone marrow tests
1 blood transfusion
Issues we have encountered on this journey include:
Huge mediastinal mass (very dangerous)
Hospital admissions for uncontrolled vomiting and pain (caused by chemotherapy)
Blood transfusion
Neutropenia
Infections - numerous
Mouth ulcers caused by chemo
Fevers - numerous
Hickman line repair and renewal
Shingles
Constipation due to drugs
Several wide spread rashes
Lots of leg pain
I don’t really know how to sum up the last 2 years. We’ve been to hell and back, but we’ve made it, just 🧡
Thank you to everyone at Bens foundation for this much needed break away
