Dolly’s Story

Dolly’s family visited Ben's Retreat in December 2025.

Dolly has 3 sisters and has grown up in a crazy, Happy house. Dolly loves to go on holidays and swim and be with all of her family.

After a summer holiday to France in 2016 Dolly became unwell and was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia, She was 6 years old at the time and it turned our world upside down. Dolly spent the next 2 1/2 years having Treatment and she rang the bell in November 2018.

As a family we made the most of Dolly being in remission and we visited Florida and went on lots of trips!

Unfortunately and without warning Dolly relapsed 4.5 years later after being so well and healthy and the shock of it was truly devastating!

This time Dolly did not respond so well to Chemotherapy and so had to
go to London to have CAR T Cells, these put Dolly into remission but unfortunately they ended up failing and so Dolly needed a Bone Marrow Transplant and lucky for us her sister Winnie was a perfect match!

Dolly has been in recovery and remission since March 2024 and is doing so well!!

She is a pure joy and has never let Cancer get in her way!

Dolly is always smiling and is so full of life!

Thank you to everyone at Ben Saunders Foundation for this wonderful break.
