Sam's Story
Sam's family visited the Lodge in July 2026.

Sam was diagnosed age 10 with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (TCell) in December 2023. Despite developing several side effects that came with his treatment, he was doing well.
In June 2025, 18 months into treatment and on his birthday, we found out he’d relapsed. We knew we had a fight on our hands and our only hope was a bone marrow transplant.
What followed were intensive rounds of chemo in Bristol and a trial involving a new type of CAR -T therapy at GOSH. Devastatingly we were unable to get the leukaemia to a level acceptable for transplant and Sam passed away in November. We miss him so much every single day.
We are so grateful to have the chance to spend some time together while we try and navigate life without him.
