Teddy's Story
Teddy's family visited Ben's Retreat in August 2025.

Teddy was diagnosed in May 2024. He actually came to me and told me that his testicle was swollen and we didn’t know it then but him telling me that at 7 years old actually saved his life because he didn’t have one other symptom, and I really mean not one other.
It was a whirlwind from our initial appointment to being in surgery, scans, appointments, more surgeries and having the diagnosis all within about 2-3 weeks.
Teddy then went through 6 months of weekly chemotherapy at Royal Manchester children’s hospital which was really tough and made him really poorly, leaving him in bed and not properly eating or drinking for 4-6 days on his double chemo weeks.
It is absolutely heartbreaking to watch your child go through that and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.
He had his last surgery in February 2025 and is doing really well, he started having golf lessons during his chemo and has continued with that and is loving it.
He is back at school (not sure he missed that too much when going through treatment 🤣) but he’s back with his friends and we are having a yes year to make up for last year, if we get invited to anything then our answer is always yes!!!
Thank you so much to the Ben Saunders Foundation for this wonderful trip so we can keep making wonderful new memories ❤️
