Katie's Story

In April 2021, we got the devastating news that Katie has ALL ( acute lymphoblastic leukaemia) she was just 11 years old, in the last couple of months of primary school.

A couple of weeks before we found out Katie’s symptoms were shortness of breath, sore legs and rashes on her body.

Doctors at the hospital said it was just a virus until we got her bloods done and the same day we got a call to go to Lewisham hospital, we waited and after 4 days they told us it was cancer.

We were them moved to St George’s hospital for 1 week. And was referred to the royal Marsden hospital.

After almost 3 years of treatment Katie eventually rang the bell and has been progressing well over the past few years.
