Connor’s Story

Connor’s family visited the Cotswolds in April 2026.

Connor was diagnosed with leukaemia on February 5th 2025. He had shown no signs of being really poorly, he had a temperature that wouldn’t go away and then eventually he got a few dark red spots on his body.

We took him to the doctor, who sent us to the hospital straight away. We were then an inpatient for a couple of months where he started his chemo.

After his induction, the marrow they took showed he still had high amounts of cancer cells. Previously he would have had to have a bone marrow transplant, but they had a new drug (Blinatumomab) which is a targeted immunotherapy. It used Connor’s own immune system to fight the cancer cells.

He had a backpack with a constant infusion over 4 weeks, with a break of 2 weeks, then another 4 weeks.

The marrow then showed he had zero traces of cancer.
We had a couple of Unplanned stays in hospital with a temperature last year but touch wood, this year it’s all outpatient (unless he gets a temperature) we are now in maintenance.

Connor is now attending school full time following after a delayed start, Connor’s treatment ends April 2027 an still has a way to go.
