Shannon’s Story

Hi my name is Shannon I’m 26 years old and in 2021 I had a little boy who is absolutely amazing.

What started as constant stomach pain and required multiple hospital visits only for me to to be told I’m fine as I’ve just had a baby.

I suffered for about 2 and half years of pain and bleeding until in may of 2024 I went to A&E as the pain was unbearable.

I then was told to go to singleton hospital where they undertook several biopsies and tests to find out what’s going on.

After one week in hospital I was informed that I’ve had a chronic uterine inversion. This meant at just 24 year old I had a hysterectomy.

By that start of June 2024 I was informed told I have a rare form of cancer Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) a soft tissue cancer. From August 2024 -April 2025 I was given chemotherapy and was given and radiation therapy.
Now in 2026 maintenance chemo tablets are finishing.
