Hannah ’s Story
Hannah's family visited Ben's Retreat in September 2026.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in Sept 2023, underwent a double mastectomy and was told I was all clear with no spread!
Unfortunately that wasn’t true and my cancer had spread to my bones but was missed on 3 seperate scans so I underwent ‘preventative’ chemotherapy and radiotherapy (that I didn’t need and was no benefit due to it already spreading)
2024 was a tough year for me and my kids, as a single mum, navigating chemo and trying to be a present mum was very hard. My kids became carers and had to put up with a lot and miss out on a lot as a result of the treatment I was having.
We got the news it had spread late 2024 and it been untreated for 11 months. I started on hormone treatment but unfortunately that has now stopped working and my cancer is continuing to progress and grow so I’ve had to restart chemotherapy and radiotherapy!
This opportunity to give my children a break and to make precious memories with them means so much to me and my family and we can’t thank the Ben Saunders Foundation enough ❤️
