Owen's Story

Owen's family visited the Cotswolds in September 2025.

Our son Owen is 26 now. He was diagnosed with a very rare cancer called Sinal Nasal Undifferientiated Carsonoma (SNUC) after falling ill for several months and a long battle with our GP.

On Nov 7th, 2023, he was diagnosed and the same day admitted to the cancer unit to start treatment. He is stage 4.

Owen endured seven months of chemotherapy, and then in March 2024, myself and Owen had to move to London, leaving his dad behind with Owens dog zeus.

Owen was treated for 7 weeks daily with Proton Beam Therapy at the UCHL in London alongside chemotherapy. It was a very tough time for us all, and the side effects from both treatments were pretty horrendous. Owens' second day of treatment fell on his 25th birthday in London.

Following this treatment this year, Owen has had two surgeries, the most recent being 6 weeks ago today. Throughout it all, he has stayed positive. He always has a smile on his face and is my hero.

Owen is still struggling with effects from his treatment and we have regular visits to Oncology every 4 to 6 weeks amongst other appointments where he endures a nasal scope up into his nose and suctioning from ears and nose.

He is now partially deaf and has no smell and damage to his eye where the tumour was growing. The tumour grew into the frontal lobe of Owens' brain.
