Jaxon’s Story
Jaxon’s family visited Ben's Retreat in October 2025.

Our little boy, Jaxon, was diagnosed with a brain tumour. A rare cancer called Ependymoma over Easter weekend this year.
The surgeons managed to remove 95% of the tumour during his first surgery. Once they confirmed it was an ependymoma, they needed to operate again to remove the rest. That second surgery took place on his 2nd birthday. Thankfully, they were able to get it all out!
Afterwards, Jaxon underwent 33 rounds of proton beam therapy in London. Once that was complete, we did our best to adjust to our new normal. This included something very special, our wedding in Spain! Back in April, when we first found out about Jaxon’s diagnosis, we weren’t sure it would even be possible. But we did it and it truly was the most needed magical day.
We flew back from Spain on a Tuesday and the very next day Jaxon had his routine 3 month MRI. Sadly, they found another small tumour and he had to undergo yet another surgery. Once again, the incredible surgeons managed to remove it completely.
Our brave 2½-year-old has been through so much, he’s truly our little trooper. And his big sister Bella has been amazing, adapting so well to everything that’s happened this year. We’re all so looking forward to a much-needed break away together.
This weekend we were meant to be hosting our England wedding celebration and celebrating Mummy’s 30th birthday, but we’ve had to cancel the party. We can’t wait to celebrate Mummy’s 30th in the Cotswolds instead - surrounded by love and our two incredible children 💕
Massive thank you to everyone at Ben Saunders Foundation for this break.
