Sam's Story
Sam's family visited the Lodge in September 2024.
Sam had been suffering with a variety of different symptoms including joint pain and night sweats for months. He saw numerous doctors who all dismissed his symptoms even when his bloods came back abnormal and he had anaemia.
After finding a lump on his neck in February he was finally referred for an ultrasound which showed abnormalities. After a further biopsy, an operation removing a lymph node and a PET scan Sam was then diagnosed with Hodgekins Lymphoma in April and started Chemotherapy in May.
He has had such a rough time during treatment including being admitted with food poisoning during his first cycle but has never once complained and remained positive through out, being more concerned about others and has raised £280 for The Teenage Cancer Unit where he was being treated.
He has completed his last chemotherapy session and we have just received the fantastic results that he’s cancer free
We are really looking forward to this much needed break away and very grateful to Ben Saunders Foundation for making it possible
